Cookie Town

I made Ray Bledsoe’s Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe (Winter ‘07) and WOW! I made some serious brownie points when I brought these cookies in to work! They were gone before lunchtime. This is not the first recipe from your magazine that I’ve tried. I’ve made several—most were great, some were just OK. But that may have been just as much operator error than anything else.

Shining Example

I recently moved south out of the Texoma area but I come back to visit family and friends as often as I can. My mother bought me a gift subscription to your magazine and I’m tickled to be getting it; it’s one more way to help me stay connected to my hometown. When I received the last issue, the anniversary issue, I was thrilled to read the article about Mr. Willie Riles.

Play Ball!

My aunt in Sherman sent me a copy of your Summer issue (Play Ball!). My dad played for the minor league 1948 Sherman-Denison Twins baseball team and there he was in a photo I had never seen. Dad passed in 1983 and it meant a lot to see him in his uniform. He loved to played baseball.

Folks Back Home

I moved to Texoma from northeast Oregon this past spring. As a retired person it was a chance to be closer to my children. I first saw Texoma Living! at my doctor’s office. What a pleasant surprise! I had no idea the art community was so large and varied. The young man who does the bronze sculptures (Shannon Cain) is so talented, as are the many others featured.

Cap’t Swabbie Speaks Out

I enjoyed your tribute “Slam Bang Theater” and my good friend, Bill Camfield aka Icky Twerp. I worked with Bill at KFJZ and KTVT in the 50s and 60s. I’m happy you recalled and memorialized Bill and his many talents. But I would like to make a couple of corrections. Bill’s last name is CAMFIELD, not Canfield.
