One of the things that set Texoma Living! apart is the inclusion in each issue of a long-form profile, usually three thousand words or more, on someone who brings something special to our community. From the beginning, the goal was to offer the reader something more than a superficial glance at the subject. We wanted the reader to finish the story and say, “I never knew that.” This is a very short retrospective of some of those stories.

The number of exhibits that have been brought to the Red River Historical Museum in Sherman is impressive, and so is their quality. The museum’s success rises from a long process of development by the volunteer citizen board of directors, under the leadership of museum director, Marcia Rolbiecki.

Apple Outpost

Grant Chapman, 27, is Bonham’s Johnny Appleseed, and he slices and dices and fixes Apple computers at his family’s store on Bonham’s Center Street. Grant, dad Bill and mom Margie, have been in Bonham just over a year, and they have built a good business around fixing PCs and Macs by mail order.
