It is a quiet place hidden away in an office block off North Travis Street in Sherman, so the amount of rowdy school spirit that comes out of the place is surprising. Daron Holland owns Hollands Logo; as a native and lifelong resident of Sherman he bleeds maroon and white.

Little Horses

In my fantasy, I live on a large ranch. From the back porch I can survey the property. There are dozens of animals-mostly horses-trotting or running to and fro, Llamas patrol the fence line, and turtles wander towards the sparkling pond in the center of the stand of giant oaks. Off to the side there is a lush pasture of green grass – a favorite of my large herd of miniature horses.

Spring has arrived and out come the colors! This season comfort rules with lightweight cottons. Stripes and bold colors dominate the wardrobe. To show off the season’s best, Belk Department Store and Texoma Living! held auditions in January for young men 18-28 years old.

The Bikers Next Door

On a cul de sac street in a quiet west Denison neighborhood is a place crawling with bikers. Tim and Cathy, in their mid-forties, have so many motorcycles that they have their own mechanic’s shop right on the property. They also have two four-wheeler ATV’s.

The Salvation Army raised $6,000 and served 300+ people at the Sherman Municipal Ballroom on January 26th. Area restaurants donated their signature dishes. With the introduction of Cowboy Cab two years ago this June and Yellow Cab about eight months ago, consumers have transportation options.

Chocolate Indulgence

CASA of Grayson Co. is a service organization dedicated to area children who have found themselves in the court system, not for what they have done, but as victims of abuse and neglect. The goal of CASA is to represent these children as Guardians ad Litem to protect their rights and to ultimately place each into a loving and protective home.

Donny Anderson-Jimmy Jack Beale NFL Alumni Charity Golf Classic

Leadership and inspiration are what make the annual NFL Alumni Charity Golf Classic stand out in the North Texas area, and the board directing tournament activities credits those attributes to Tournament Director and Board President Jimmy Jack Beale. One of the things that stand out about Beale in the past six years of the tournament’s existence in Grayson County is Beale’s physical challenges.
