TMC: Always on Duty
Our team of dedicated and professional officers strives to maintain a place that is safe and secure for everyone associated with the hospital. The Texoma Medical Center Security Department recognizes the safety and security of our patients, staff and visitors as a fundamental obligation.
“Security Officers create and maintain a safe and comfortable environment, and without it people wouldn’t continue to come here,” said Christine Patterson, a visitor in the emergency room.
Our officers come from different backgrounds, most often law enforcement or the military, and each has committed to continue serving the public through service with TMC. “The security in our hospital is a vital part of the care of patients, and protection for employees. I have seen security go above and beyond to protect and take care of people,” said TMC PBX operator Sulynn Reagan, who works the night shift.
“Taking care” can range from responding to slips and falls, vandalism, weather emergencies, vehicle accidents, and workplace violence, to handing out coloring books and crayons to our younger guests in the Emergency waiting room in an effort to make their stay a bit easier.
With our Safe Place Infant Abduction System we protect our youngest patients more effectively, monitoring infant and pediatric patients assigned to the Women and Children Center. Kids will be kids, and the system is designed to alert the staff when our curious and energetic pediatric patients get to close to an exit, when new parents wander too close to exit doors, or if security bands are tampered with or removed without authorization. These actions trigger a complete lock down of the unit to include the elevators.
Newborn patients are banded within minutes of birth, providing parents a greater sense of security. Although the infant abduction system is in place, it does not diminish the roles of our first line of security; the nursing staffs who diligently inspect and ensure that monitors and bands are securely and properly attached to these patients. Parents are educated on the use of the bands, which allows them to be an active part of their child’s safety.
The Texoma Medical Center wants to be community and family oriented with loving, caring attitudes. We hope to better serve your families for many years to come, in accordance with our mission statement: The patients and families that rely upon us are fellow human beings, and they will receive respectful and dignified treatment from all of our people at all times.

Randy Sedlacek began the precursor of Steel-Link.com in 1995.

Shoe Shine
Some people may think having a shoeshine is simply about improving or restoring the appearance of their shoes, but don’t you believe it. If Willie Riles, who has been bringing up the shine at Kelly Square in Sherman for 18 years, has ministered to their needs, they know that it is about something more, including a smile and an entertaining conversation.
Texoma Regional Blood Center
An average man of 180 pounds has about 10 to 11.5 pints of blood in his body, the average woman, a little less. If you live at high altitudes, you have more blood, as much as 4.7 pints more. A greater volume is needed as the air at higher altitudes holds less oxygen. A new-born baby weighing eight pounds only has about eight ounces of blood.
