2009 Boot Scootin Ball
[imagebrowser id=11]
From a humble 2001 Preston Volunteer Emergency Services (PVES) fundraiser to the “Hottest Ticket in Town” the Boot Scootin’ Ball has become the event Grayson County attends to see and be seen.
Since 2001, having raised over $800,000 in support of PVES, the “Ball” shows no signs of letting up, attracting over 1,000 attendees, each of the last five years.
Partygoers come not only for the one-of-a-kind offerings of the live and silent auctions, the great finds on the Big Board, the great barbecue and the Hard Luck Band’s toe-tappin’ tunes, but to show off their bling, leather, designer jeans, Tony Lamas and Stetsons!
The fun is all for a good cause, that of providing sustaining funds for PVES. PVES provides fire service to the Preston Peninsula and medical emergency service to Preston, Pottsboro, and Locust. Within that area lie thirteen youth camps and five marinas.
With an estimated 1.4 million visitors to the Lake Texoma area, many of whom hail from Grayson County, maintaining funding for emergency response is ever-present.
So, mark those calendars for October 16, 2010, the date for next year’s Boot Scootin’ Ball.
