TMC: Volunteers

At Texoma Medical Center guests are greeted by men and women sporting blue vests or jackets eager to help you. The volunteers and the caring work they do made the move from the old hospital to the new TMC and are there to greet you and help you find your way. By helping you feel welcome and calming your apprehensions of the new surroundings, we are an important part of making each visit as pleasant as possible.

After a detailed evaluation of old TMC, it was evident that we needed a replacement hospital to compete with all of these 21st century hospitals, but we simply did not have the financial means to build a new hospital. The solution, implemented in 2006, was to seek a new capital partner. The centerpiece of our strategy required a commitment to build a new hospital by January 2010.

Will Watson, a 2007 graduate of Texoma Christian School, was preparing to enter the United States Naval Academy when he decided he had another calling. In the fall of last year, Watson took what he felt was a divine direction. Just days later, he was on his way to Nairobi, Kenya, to engage in an outreach program with orphaned children.
