As we drove home, I would get on my knees in the back seat and look out the back window at the headlights of what seemed like a thousand cars strung out behind us in the night, all going home after the game.

The Downside of Summer Sun

As the summer warmth beckons us to the beach and poolside, outside activities mean more exposure to the sun. That means exposure to ultraviolet radiation and risk of skin cancer. The sun radiates light to the earth, and part of that light consists of invisible ultraviolet (UV) rays. When these rays reach the skin, they cause tanning, burning, and other skin damage.
