I made Ray Bledsoe’s Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe (Winter ‘07) and WOW! I made some serious brownie points when I brought these cookies in to work! They were gone before lunchtime. This is not the first recipe from your magazine that I’ve tried. I’ve made several—most were great, some were just OK. But that may have been just as much operator error than anything else.

My mother bought me a gift subscription to your magazine and I’m tickled to be getting it; it’s one more way to help me stay connected to my hometown. When I received the last issue, the anniversary issue, I was thrilled to read the article about Mr. Willie Riles.

My dad played for the minor league 1948 Sherman-Denison Twins baseball team and there he was in a photo I had never seen. Dad passed in 1983 and it meant a lot to see him in his uniform. He loved to played baseball.

What a pleasant surprise! I had no idea the art community was so large and varied. The young man who does the bronze sculptures (Shannon Cain) is so talented, as are the many others featured.

I’m happy you recalled and memorialized Bill and his many talents. But I would like to make a couple of corrections. Bill’s last name is CAMFIELD, not Canfield.

Dr. Jim Caskey
It doesn’t look like a medical office, outside or in. The building is set back off East Lamberth in a cluster of trees, and if given only a passing glance, it could be mistaken for a residence. Just inside the front door is the old waiting room. It looks like what it is, or perhaps “was,” as no one uses it much anymore.

Holland’s Logo
It is a quiet place hidden away in an office block off North Travis Street in Sherman, so the amount of rowdy school spirit that comes out of the place is surprising. Daron Holland owns Hollands Logo; as a native and lifelong resident of Sherman he bleeds maroon and white.
