Cost of Shame Art ExhibitSoutheastern Oklahoma State University’s Department of Arts, Communication and Theater present The Cost of Shame, an art exhibit focusing on domestic violence against women opening February 18.

The  exhibition is intended to cast light on the plight of the countless women who have been victims of violence: sexual violence, domestic violence, social or emotional violence. Artists have been  encouraged submit work that focuses upon the victims of violence and the impact it has had on them and or the cost that victimization has had on our whole culture and society. Subject, nuance, style and approach are open to the interpretation of each artist.

The exhibit opens to the public with a reception at the Centre Gallery on February 18 at 6 pm and will run through March 26, 2010. For more information about the exhibit and details for the Call for Artists related to the exhibit, please contact Associate Professor Dave Barnes at 580-745-2446 or dbarnes@se.edu .
